Canada and the Tree (Part Two)

Canada led me to Roderich's personal orchard after I started the drying cycle on Norway's outfit. The trees there were arranged masterfully, as to be expected by a nation like Roderich. The tree in the very cent of the orchard was clearly the only one with a large axe in it. "Just as I suspected.", I said with a sigh. "Well, who was it?" asked Canada impatiently. "Judging by the design, it was none other than--!" I was cut off after a particularly rough shove to the cold ground. "You idiot! You don't remember anything, do you?" a tense but familiar voice said. "M-Mathias, what is your problem?!" I asked, rising from the ground to meet the Dane. "My problem? Even after you created this new world, you still find ways to avoid me!" he spouted. "Not to mention that you're all lovey-dovey with...with him again!". Having no idea what he was talking about, I slapped him in hopes he would come to his senses, but he just pulled another axe from seemingly nowhere. This axe was different, though. Namely, it was double headed with one head on fire and the other frozen solid. "So, it's gonna come to strife, eh?" he said, with an almost insane grin. "Surely you aren't going to attack me unarmed, Mathias?" I asked, mustering my coolest tempered voice. "Of course not, you idiot! Get your strife abstratus in order, grab your claws, and let's fight!" he said. "My...claws? Mathias, I fear that you have truly gone off your rocker." I responded, much to his shock. "How can't you know even the bare basics of strife?" he shouted, but I was too busy trying to figure out what he meant. At that exact moment, a green card appeared out of thin air. The word "clawkind" was printed on the right-hand side with a picture of battle claws in the center, and several smaller images below it. Focusing on the rightmost small image, a pair of blue metallic claws, I stared in shock as the claws materialized on my hands. Not even a second later, I was blocking an overhead strike from the flame head of Denmark's axe. Stepping to the side, I flug myself at the Dane and slashed my claws across his midsection. There was no blood, but he still looked as if the attack hurt. "So this is the power that made our world. The strength of the Seer of Heart.
" he said. "Mathias Køhler, I demand that you stop talking nonsense and explain yourself to me right now!" I shouted, fed up with his nonsense. In that instant, he went from raving maniac, to sobbing sad-sack. "I'm sorry," he said through a stream of tears. "It's just been so long since you called me by my full name." he added. "More nonsense." I sighed. "If you have no more business here, I suggest you get going." I said as the still sobbing man got to his feet. "And take your axe with y--!" I was interrupted again, not by a tackle, but by a kiss. Not an enjoyable kiss, either. It was rough, forced, and tasted of fish. Again, I slapped the Dane. "You'll be lucky to escape with your life the next time you pull that stunt!" I yelled as the Denmark walked away from the orchard.

When I got back inside, I immediately told Roderich what happened. "He...he kissed you?!" he asked, bewildered. "Don't worry, Roderich. I slapped him a good one and sent him running with a threat." I replied, leaning in to kiss him on the cheek. "Don't worry, I used the strongest mouthwash I have two times." I said, smiling at him. "It's starting to make sense now." he said. "What is?" I asked, having had enough insanity for one day. However, Roderich did not respond. He went up to the attic and came back with two necklaces. One that was shaped like a heart that was divided in half with one half filled in and the other hollowed out a bit. The other was a small dark blue spiral. "Ever since I was a child, these two necklaces were in an ornate jewelry box in my attic." he responded. "When I wore the blue one, I would have a horrible nightmare when I went to sleep. It was always the same nightmare, too." he said. "What about the heart necklace?" I asked him. "Nothing happened with the heart, but after what Mathias called you, I have a feeling that it belongs to you." he replied, putting the necklace around my neck. Instantly, I could see a scene unfolding before my eyes.

A dark sky was rumbling with the sound of canonfire over a black and white checkered ground. Twelve people were on that field, squaring off against shadowy enemies that resembled chess pieces. As the chess army dissipated, a new, taller figure took their place. "This is it. The king has arrived." a voice said. My own voice. The twelve of us launched into combat. Myself, Austria, Russia, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Latvia, the Italy brothers, Hungary, Prussia, Canada, and France. The scene shifted, and only myself and Roderich were standing, with Roderich being severely wounded. "I won't let that...that thing kill you Roderich!" I shouted "I think I've lost you enough times." I added, striking at the Black King, but my attack was in vain. The king struck Roderich down with one final hit before growling "The Bard is dead. His melody is Void.". Tears began to fall down both my past self's face and my current face as well. My past self screamed out in heartbreak before delivering a finishing blow to the King. Amongst the ruin of battle, a green door appeared. My past self walked through into a room where a cool robotic voice said "Well done, Seer of Heart. You have slain the Black King and successfully brought a new world to life. What do you want in your new world?". My past self fell to his knees and said in a barely audible voice "A second chance with Roderich and my friends.". "As you wish, Seer." the voice responded before the entire room flashed white. When the light cleared, the scene had changed to my room back in Palamecia, as I woke up to see Russia staring at me. At that moment, I ripped the necklace from my body and cried even more.

Canada and The Tree (Part one)

As I started to wash Norway's outfift, I noticed there was something strange about the atmosphere in the laundry room. It was almost as if there was someone else in the room with me! "Probably one of Norway's magical friends." i said out loud, wondering if they got along with England's "imaginary" friends. However, no matter where I went, the presence seemed to be following me. About at my limit of being stalked, I rolled up a nearby newspaper and swung in the direction of the presence. "Maple!", it shouted in a barely audible voice that I instantly recognized as Canada's. "Canada! Why were you following me around?!" I asked the now perfectly visible country. "Oh, well, I hope it's nothing major, but there's a gigantic axe lodged in a tree near here." he replied. "Wait. You didn't mistake me for America?" he added, now smiling widely. "Of course not! You two are clearly polar opposites, so it's nearly impossible for me to mix you up." I replied. Unfortunately, Canada's happiness left as fast as it arrive when Kumajirou squeaked out a "Who are you?", prompting a sigh from the little bear's owner. "Erm, anyways, do you mind showing me this tree?" I asked, somehow already knowing just who the culprit is. After all, there's only one nation that I know of with an axe as their weapon of choice. However, before I could investigate, the washer stopped. "Excuse me for a moment." I said, rushing off to set Norway's outfit in the dryer.

And now, an update from the Author.

Hello, fellow readers. I realize it's been since November that I've updated this, and for that, I apollogize. However, I bring two pieces of good news with me! First and foremost, following this post will be a brand new part of the story! I'm coming up with the plot as I write this, so look forward to it. Secondly, for any fans of yaoi, I have started a "sub-blogfic" called "Austria! ♪ The Yaoi Chapters". Generic the title may be, but if you want to read random snippets (in other words, there's no chronological order to them) of what would have made the story if it was on a place like FanFiction.net, be sure to check it out! The url is: http://auxpalyaoi.blogspot.com (NOTE: I update the yaoi blog far less than the main story.) Thank you, and please enjoy!

Breakfast with Austria, Hungary, and Palamecia! (part two)

"So Hungary, why did you come here today?" I asked as I got out the pancake mix. "Well, to be honest, I never really did go out with Iceland. I only did that because after Austria defended you, I felt kind of hurt." she replied. "I'm sorry about what I did and I honestly think you two make a cute couple!" she added. "I forgive you. It was only natural that you would feel that way after being told to be nice to a total stranger like me!" I replied, blushing a little at her compliment. As soon as breakfast was done, there was a knock at the door. "Hm? I wonder who that could be." I mumbled as I walked to the door. There, standing out in the rain, was Norway. "Norway! What happened?!" I asked as I led him inside. The country was shivering too badly to tell us right away, so I turned on the heating system. "Just another Nordic argument started by Denmark. As usual, everyone went their own seperate ways, but Iceland... Iceland...stayed with Denmark!" Norway said, sounding as though he was about to cry. " I'm sorry to hear that." I replied, trying my best to comfort the country. "If you don't think you can face the other Nordics after that, I'm sure Roderich would be glad to let you stay here for a while!" I added, hoping Roderich wouldn't mind another person in his house. "Very well, Norway. You may stay with Palamecia and myself. I'll let Berwald know at once so he can atleast check up on you from time to time." Roderich replied and went to write a letter to Sweden. "Alright! Well, first thing's first. You should get a bath and I'll wash your clothes for you." I said, pointing Norway in the direction of the bathroom. "Thank you both for your hospitality..." Norway said as he went to the bathroom to prepare for his bath. "I suppose I should get back home." Hungary said as she stood up. "Very well. Stop by again anytime!" I said as I waved goodbye.

Breakfast with Austria, Hungary, and Palamecia! (part one)

The next day, I woke up and noticed that Roderich was still asleep, so I decided to make him breakfast. When I got to the kitchen I noticed we were completely out of everything. "Great... Just great..." I said out loud before heading to the grocery store. After getting what I needed and paying, I walked outside into the Fall air. "Almost time for sweaters and snowball fights." I said, rather unhappy about the idea of Winter approaching. "It sure is." said a monotone voice behind me. I turned around to see Norway standing there, accompanied by all of the other Nordics, though something seemed a bit odd. The last I knew, Iceland and Hungary were a couple, so why wasn't she with him? Before I could think anymore on the subject, Denmark greeted me. "Hey, Palamecia!" he shouted. "Hello, Denmark. I'd gladly stay and chat, but these groceries need to get home." I replied. I waved goodbye before walking back to Roderich's house. When I got inside, I noticed Roderich still wasn't awake. Concerned, I shouted "Hey, Roderich! Rise and shine! It's 10:00 a.m.!" before starting to put away the groceries. When I turned around, Hungary was right behind me! "Eep! H-how did you get in here?!" I asked, worried about what she might do. She merely smiled and said "You left the door unlocked." before sitting down. "Y-you aren't going to hit me?" I asked, puzzled at her response. "Why would I? Do you know how long it's taken me to get over Roderich? I should be thanking you!" she said, sounding rather cheerful. Before the coversation could continue, Roderich walked into the room in his usual outfit. "Good morning, Roderich!" I said before giggling slightly. "Roderich, you left your bunny slippers on!" I said after managing to control my laughter. "Good morning, Palamecia." he said with a yawn before noticing Hungary was there. "E-elizaveta?! H-how did you get in here?!" he asked, rather shocked at her presence. "Good morning, Roderich. Mateus left the door unlocked." she replied. "Well, since you're here, why not join us for breakfast?" I said as I stood up. "And a certain Roddykins needs to get out of his bunny slippers." I added, walking over to Roderich and kissing him on the cheek. "That's so adorable!" Hungary shouted, startling both of us. Blushing, I went to start breakfast.

Dream or reality (part two)

"What happened?" Roderich asked as he ran into the room. "W-water..." Prussia gasped. Instantly, I dashed to the kitchen to get him some water. Prussia slowly sipped the water and asked for a cup for the little yellow bird that accompanies him. Upon getting the bird some water, Prussia had recovered enough to tell us what happened. "The other day, I read about an ancient building that was full of treasure and difficult to find," he said "So I decided to go search for it. It turns out, that the whole thing was a complete lie! I eventually lost any idea of where I was, and by the time I started to recognise where I was, I arrived here." Amazed at what I had just heard, I could only stare in awe. Roderich, however, was not impressed. "I don't believe one bit of that story." he said, turning away from Prussia. "Roderich, please don't let his past get in the way of the truth! I know Gilbert can be a total jerk sometimes, but look at him! He's clearly been through a lot during the time he was out there!" I said, trying not to sound too defensive. "You're right. I shouldn't be focusing on the past right now." Roderich said. "Do you need anything else?" he asked. "Maybe a bit of food...please." Prussia replied. We both stared in shock at him. Did he really just say 'please'? Nodding, I went to make him a sandwich. "Eat until you're full!" I said, handing him the sandwich and sitting a small bowl of birdseed on the table for the bird. "Thanks!" Prussia said, happily taking the sandwich and eating it. After finishing the sandwich, Prussia got to his feet and said "Thanks for everything!" before turning to Austria. "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for what I put you two through." he said. Roderich could tell that he meant it and said "I forgive you, but don't mess up again." Prussia then said good bye as he headed for the door. "Maybe good deeds really can change people." I thought out loud. "I guess I'll go to bed now. Goodnight, Roderich." I said. "Goodnight, Mateus. Sleep well." he replied as I headed to my room.
